The places
Green, monuments and outdoors: these are the ingredients of our cycling route that winds Robecco sul Naviglio and its small but rich hamlets. A circular path of only 5.7 km is accessible to adults and children thanks to its asphalted and not trafficated roads. If you are a curious (and hungry) person you can also visit Agriturismo Molino Santa Marta.
Nature & art
The rural landscape is the peculiarity that leads here. Cultures vary here and there with evocative color differences.
During the months of July and August blonde wheat fields and green corn in bloom fields form natural walls at the side of the road. Small irrigation canals keep the fields and all for the variety forms of life that live in them alive. Along the way you can visit Robecco church of St. Giovanni Battista and Casterno church of St. Andrea Apostolo with its short but impressive shingle staircase bordered by fragrant lime threes.
The path
The starting point is the parking at the beginning of Casterno Street, where you can easily leave your car and prepare your bikes.
- Exit the parking
- Turn right and pedal on the same street for 1 km
- Reach Casterno and continue for 250 meters, follow the roundabout and then continue on Monastery Street
- After 100 meters you will find Casterno church of St. Andrea Apostolo and its big oratory on the left where you can stopover if you are tired
- Continue on St. Ambrogio Street, leave the small town, continue on June 4th Street and immerse yourself in Robecco countryside
- After 1.1 km coast Carpenzago. Here you can turn left after 650 meters and reach Mulino Pietrasanta or go straight and pass in front of the Vaiana Farmhouse
- Continue on Carpenzago Street and Pietrasanta Street up to Robecco Square
- Turn left on St. Giovanni Street and go straight until you reach the starting point
A stop for refreshments can not be missed. In the restaurant "Osteria del Monastero” you can taste the traditional Lombardy cuisine such as polenta, braised veal (ossobuco), saffron risotto (risotto alla milanese), etc.
