Lombardy Region, in order to spread and to preserve the local commerce, favored restructuring measures in favor of commercial and municipal governments. The Region intervened at first through the establishment of the Districts of Trade and subsequently recognizing funds for the Small Non-Mountain Municipalities. This type of town, having no more than 2000 inhabitants, was thus able to gain access to benefits in line with those paid for the various districts of Commerce.
Gudo Visconti Municipality
Gudo Visconti, 1,309 inhabitants, is a small town in the province of Milan with a long history. The town's name derives partly from the fact that until 1498 it belonged to the Visconti family who had given many dukes in Milan and who had built a castle here. This building seems now completely destroyed except for some parts that are stored in the structure of a restaurant that is located in front of the town hall, built on the perimeter of a part of the walls of the medieval fortress.
The picturesque attraction of the landscape, surrounded by these fields crossed by numerous canals, is a reminder for those who love to enjoy the quietness and the pleasures of good housewife table, free range of restaurants and pitoresque cottages

Cassinetta di Lugagnano Municipality
Small center sitated next to Abbiategrasso, with 1415 inhabitants, it is located about 20 km from Milan, towards the South-West.
In Cassinetta di Lugagnano certainly the tendency to favor the shores of the canals as a place of resort of the rich and noble families of Milan, finds its highest expression, highlighted by four villas set around the Alzaia of the Naviglio and the others scattered around the country. Among those that arise along the canal we have: Beolco Negri Villa, Visconti Castiglioni Maineri Villa, Castiglioni Nai Bossi Villa, Krentzlin Palace, Pallavicini Bodio Bottiglia, Gambotto Negri Villa.
Walking along the streets of the town you can meet many fine buildings in what was once the territory of Lugagnano. To complete the scenario there are places of worship with the Parish Church of St. Anthony Abbot and St. Joseph's Oratory.
