By bike from Abbiategrasso to Morimondo through Ozzero

The Naviglio towpath stretch that connects Abbiategrasso-Morimondo, is a short path, about 5 km, closed to vehicular traffic.

The path runs along the canal and on to the Municipality of Bereguardo.

The landscape presents all the characteristics of the Lombardy area: poplars, willows and hedges protect rice and corn fields. Farms and rural villages (Bugo Farm, Ozzero fraction) are the corollary to the agricultural landscape.

Once left fields behind, you reach the territory of Morimondo, where the valley, which slopes gently toward the woods, satisfies the view. The scenic beauties are a secondary aspect of Morimondo: it is the Abbey, with its eight centuries of history, to become the main protagonist. The architectural element, which is typical of Cirstercian, was built between the '200 and the '300 and its emblem is clay. This material well suited the style of austere monastic life and, moreover, it was readily available on site.
